Appreciating life, family, friends and God (if you're religious) are the keys to happiness. The biggest key that unlocks everything is appreciating yourself. Until someone accepts who he/she is and loves himself, that person will never truly be happy.
This is why suicide rates are so high today, because people see artificial lives and artificial happiness on the socials and think "why is that not my life?" while these images they see of others are cherrypicked snapshots in time showcasing a single moment as if it is their full lives. Then people use filters for their pictures only to see themselves in the mirror every day and wonder "why don't I look like that artificial picture I posted on the snaps?" Then people are told they can completely change who they are by making up 100 different genders only to discover they are still the same person they were at birth, so they delve deeper into a self loathing.
Money will only buy moments of joy, but joyous moments are not happiness. They help add to it, but without the love of oneself and the appreciation of all things in one's life there can never be happiness. It's just emptiness that has fleeting moments of joy
