Thought I did at 27 when I landed a job that I would retire from. Little did I know that a year later I would be divorced. Stayed with the job until 4 years later me and big wig had words and he was out to get me. Got me a few months later on some bullshite. I was gonna be fired, but resigned instead. Went back to my previous life of chasing jobs all over the US. Fast forward to just over a year ago. I got a call from the same company wanting me back. They had finally fired that a-hole. Everyone was glad he was gone. I went back at 40 yrs old and will retire in hopefully 15-20 years. It’s one of the highest paying jobs in my area for the position.
It also helped that I put myself in rehab to kick my alcohol habit. I basically drink myself to sleep everyday. I still occasionally enjoy a beer or two, but not a fifth and a case a day like it use to be. Life sucked at the time and was a blur for about 10 years…

Life sucked at the time and was a blur
Living our days in a soul killing haze, til we saw that life's much more than this,
Now I'm losing my hair, but at least I'm aware, and the bottle's one thing I don't miss.
