This is such revisionist history bullshite. In the history of sports and athletics, there’s never been more of a phony, goofy culture of athletes trying to be Mr Nice Guy in press conferences and giving props to the other team/coach/players. Was it taboo when guys like Ali, Jordan, Bird, McEnroe, Tyson, etc. were the greatest trash talkers of all time?

The main thing that’s changed is that we have 100x more “media” outlets out there to plug their fake outrage and clickbait directly into the palms of our hands, in turn convincing idiots like you that you’re morally superior if you oppose guys talking a little shite while they’re playing a children’s game for a living.
