Deion jones & Jarvis Landry are prob the best case studies, among others

Lucas Oil replaced its turf in 2018 after both those examples and as of the 2024 combine used something that's similar to what is in the LSU practice facility. Installed by the same company and everything

2016 combine (Deion Jones year) had nobody break 4.30, 9 players go sub 4.4

2024 combine had 2 break 4.30, 20 players go sub 4.4

2023 combine had 1 break 4.30, 17 players go sub 4.4

Jim Nagy on 3/19/24: "Seeing lots of slow 40 times coming in from pro-day circuit. Everyone knows Combine has a fast track. Conversely, many of these schools have spongy, slow surfaces. So why are agents still advising players not to run in Indy?"

Lance Zierlein on 3/19/24: "This is dead-on. I was shocked to see some of the players who need to run well skip out on combine surface. Do everything else at your pro day if you like, but by all means - RUN ON THE FAST INDY TRACK!"

I don't think there's a ton of difference between LSU and Indy running surfaces nowadays. The game has changed

Probably the only thing that is more favorable about LSU's pro day is the "official times" for some of the lower level prospects who don't get individual scrutiny on twitter. I'm sure those are somewhat favorably listed.

But for a guy like Nabers? Nah, what's listed on the LSU website will be pretty consistent with all the national media types reporting on it and what the NFL scouts actually have

You didn’t have to post all all that. I never said Indy had a slow track lol

Good points Dallastiger45. Indy track was slow prior to replacement. LSU track is faster than most. The "ref" at the start line in Indy back in the day was very strict, often called guys back for quick starts.
