It’s accurate for a lot of women. Both spouses have to work full time because they don’t want to settle for less, they have kids and the husband thinks the wife should do everything his mommy did when he was growing up. Even though the situation is completely different for his wife.
That completely opposite with our household…
My wife and I both work in the medical field, she’s management and I’m pt care. She works 5 days a week and I do 3 12 hour shifts a week. Me being off more, I do the laundry and cook. My mother did all of that when I was a kid with a stay at home mom.
Your theory is shite…

I mean, our household splits things up pretty evenly because we both work full-time. And don't have any problem picking up each other's slack depending on what's going on at any given time.
He is correct in that it's not uncommon to come across someone who, despite both parties working, expects the household chores to be treated like it's a single-family income situation. But that's a larger issue than just chores. If you can't respectfully divvy things up based on workloads and what not then it's a respect issue IMO.

Your experience and relationship with your wife is definitely indictive of society at large and completely disproves what he said
