Ok I’m retired and I’ve been living on my sailboat here in Puerto Rico for a year, I also have my 25 ton captain license.

I can’t tell much from the video but for it to hit a pylon dead center, it takes luck.

Remember these massive ships take a mile to start a turn so it’s not like at the last minute the pilot turned the wheel to hit it!
The way the bridge collapse is not a surprise. It’s a metal bridge, old and need or repair. Each part of the bridge is part of the whole structural integrity, so if you hit it just right it can cause a domino effect.

But it does seem a bit suspicious, as a captain I would be blowing the horn like crazy as soon as I realize I’ve lost control of the ship and I have a massive bridge coming towards me!!
