Almost anything by Cormac McCarthy or Larry McMurtry. Jurassic Park. Pillars of the Earth series by Ken Follett. I actually loved King’s 11/22/63 book about JFK. Tom Clancy’s Without remorse (movie was bad) and Red October. I mostly read non-fiction /history and some historic fiction these days. I’ll go back to the classics of Hemingway, Steinbeck, etc… here and there. The original I Am Legend book by Matheson is fun if you like post-apocalyptic. As much as I hated the ending of The Stand, I enjoyed the beginning storytelling King did with the first half of the book.
I’m going to read Swan Song as recommended above as it has peaked my interest. Thanks!
