Agree.
Separation of church and state is a Thomas Jefferson phrase used in a letter he wrote to a group of Connecticut Baptist preachers while he was President.
What’s ironic is that there were 2 factions concerning the BoR being added to the Constitution. One group felt it wasn’t needed since the Constitution itself protected the rights of citizens. The other wanted it included so as to leave no doubt of the rights of citizens. Think of the shat show we’d be in now if the BoR had not been included..
