You are technically correct that it is allowed, but practically speaking, a state's delegates in the Electoral College are barred from casting both of their electoral votes (POTUS and VP) for candidates from their home state, a leftover rule from when the Vice President was just the runner-up of the Presidential election so the elections wouldn't get deadlocked by delegates only voting from their own state. Which could mean that if the election is within 30 electoral votes, Trump could win the Presidency but Kamala wins the Vice Presidency.
