My thinking is that he wants to destroy RDS, no matter how the election turns out. He’ll never forgive RDS.
What RDS has going for him is his youth, his record, and his self-discipline. He’s in it for the long haul,
Nah, I think you read too much into Trump. Reference Lie'n Ted vs Lion Ted. If RDS and Vivek show loyalty in the future to the Trump cause, he'll reward them. That's politics. However, loyalty or the lack thereof could have negative consequences. I think his temporary acceptance of folks like Mattis, Fauci, and Bolton in the face of the media was to show how their philosophies were not congruent to American prosperity.
I don't see his angle against Ron is treated the same. I guess we'll see in time.

Thats not how this stuff works, which is why Trump is an island and will always be.
There is no loyalty in politics and there never should be.
Its a business where people make deals, so Trump has already fricked himself from the start.

Nobody had heard of Mattis or Fauci until Trump made them famous. And Bolton was already despised by MAGA.
The old, “I’m gonna elevate people who hate me and nobody’s ever heard of, to show people how I shouldn’t elevate them” is a helluva move.
