don't trust everything you read though, this card can hold its own vs name brands

Yes to the latter, but not so much to the former. When the Arc series was first released, Intel’s drivers were terrible. Just awful. The hardware performed far worse than it “should have” based on the tech. But kudos to Intel, they’ve stayed on it instead of abandoning it and, by all accounts, the drivers have gotten much, much better. Now the Arc cards can be a sneaky value in the low to mid range, and people are actually interested to see what Intel puts out for its next gen.
