Mornings work for several reasons - I have ZERO excuse not to go. I'm up at 4:30 at the gym by 5:00 done by 6:00-6:15 go home eat breakfast and shower and get ready for work. I find that going in the mornings gives me more energy more focus for the day I am able to avoid distractions boost metabolism throughout the day and I find it makes me sleep better. After work I have too many distractions and can come home to 'rest' and then end up not going etc.
I realize mornings are not for everyone life gets in the way ,kids get in the way, work gets in the way etc. and yes it was absolutely difficult the first several weeks when I transitioned to AM workouts but now it is like second nature.
