It truly was Once in a Lifetime for that photographer, but not in the history of photography.

I spent last week photographing gators and birds in SW LA , and accidentally screwed up a gator hunt…His intended prey (nutria) saw me and flushed a fraction of a second before the gator launched. I didn’t see the nutria, it was hidden by brush, but suddenly it jumped/swan rapidly away and the gator gave a halfhearted, too late , snap. Then I think I got stink eye from the gator, but since they always look like stink eye, I’m not sure.
