Could you define expensive? Are you saying dinner and excursions are expensive?

Most restaurants without caldera views don't look too expensive.

Just curious as to your comment/thoughts around what's expensive?

Everything you will do will be expensive basically. It’s one of the most expensive places you can go on earth.

You CAN find cheap stuff that’s good but on the caldera that’s hard to find.

Trust me, it’s pricey. Food is pricey. Taxis are wildly pricey. Renting a car can be pricey. Etc.

I know you’re looking at restaurant menus and seeing prices but that may not match up to reality, trust me, I know. Just whatever you think you’re going to spend, double it just to be safe.

Best Greek Salad we had in all of Greece with some of the best seafood and great view was at To Psaraki which as I recall is near Vychlada Beach. It’s not big and very popular for lunch, and affordable. So if you’re down on that part of the island one day, go there.

Also loved having lunch down in Amoudi Bay when we were in Oia.

If you have a car, eat at Metaxi Max one night. It’s in the middle of the island in a village but it’s got a crazy good view of the whole island and possibly the best food overall, and much less expensive than on the Caldera. VERY VERY popular so you’ll wait even with your reservation.
