I told my wife if she dies and leaves me, I'm going to go buy land and adopt every senior animal that is unadoptable in my area and give it a good life for the rest if it's time or mine, whichever ends first.

This is the path. Get some land in a beautiful area, get a house that meets your needs, let the animals roam.

I've always said that if I come into a load of money and free time, I would buy a 50 acre farm somewhere and just take in dogs that were abandoned or whatever.
