A little something I just did from the prompt to write a poem starting with "I once was a sailor that had a big boat"
I once was a sailor that had a big boat,
I did 20 years 'fore the mast,
I'd raid and I'd pillage yer village and gloat,
Shouting "Plunder me hearties, avast!"
My sails were all trim, and the ladies, ah, them,
With rhythm and rum we'd find pleasure,
"Oh Captain!" They'd scream, (and their hungry eyes gleamed),
When they'd handle my copious...treasure,
Well I'd yell out commands on the waves and the sands,
With a voice between Cornwall and brogue,
Wicked cutlass in hand to a right rakish band,
Of rapscallions, ruffians, rogues,
Yes well many a Lord would fall under my sword, feel the heel of my black briny boot,
Then we all would abscond,
To a port far beyond,
Blessing barmaids with ill-gotten loot,
Ah yes, those were the days,
Recalled now in a haze,
Some would damn me, but others admire it,
Days of halcyon, gone,
But the legends live on,
Of a youth spent on Sid Meir's Pirates!
