re: Do you know anyone that actually got in trouble for skipping jury-duty summons?

It really comes down to your county/parish and whether or not they have good turnout for the juror pool. The county I live in doesn't persue failure to appear for juror duty because they never have issues filling the spots. If/when that becomes a problem I imagine they will crack down on it. They're also pretty lenient on dismissals. Pretty much any reason will do.

At least this is what the DA told me the last time I had jury duty.
