They add this to cover their prior biased reporting. Most recent studies claim it did come naturally from an animal source. There isn’t 100% match. Some of that was slowed down by China not sharing sources of the original strain of virus and only sharing their own genetic work up of it.

The only question has been how or why it leaked from the Wuhan lab.
