Fred's opened in 1982. We were at LSU during the same years.


It is certainly one of the oldest "LSU Bars", but there must be some older neighborhood bars still around.

Yep. Fapp’s became Fred’s in 1982. I lived within walking distance of there at the time. I was going to mention the Pasttime if you want to consider that a bar.

Ah the old sunset club at Fred's. Mid to late 80's...$1 freshly squeezed screwdrivers on Thursday afternoons, the deck overlooking the pasture.


Epic times. Friday afternoons at the Tiger across the street with Beat the clock. Drinks started at 15 cents at 3 oclock and went up a quarter every 15 minutes IIRC.

Get drunk, get a big burger at TigerBurger and stumble back to Sharlo and collapse
