So looking for a little understanding on the process. I do not have any NFA items at the moment. I have the intention to convert an existing AR lower into an SBR and eventually purchase a supressor. I intend to buy items in the future as well. Iflve decided that an NFA trust would likely suit me to have a way to include family members to pass these items on on the future.
Two things. I know a shop will assist with submitting paperwork, but do they help with the initial creation of the trust if one doesn't exist? Or is that something I have to set up separately? Second, my son is only 10, and wouldn't have access to any of this now. But in the future, is it just a simple process to add him to the trust and beprinted, checked etc. for all items within the trust?

Get your trust from here:
https://www.nationalguntrusts.com/products/buy-nfa-gun-trust
I believe you can set it up with with you as the Settlor and no trustees or beneficiaries, but the cool thing about that website is that they offer free email support. Email them, and they’re very quick with replies.
They also have YouTube videos that explain how to fill out each form. Lots of good stuff from them.

This is as simple as amending the trust with his name and info, and then getting the amendment notified at your local bank. That’s it.
Any purchases after this is done will require fingerprints, photo, and a responsible persons form will need to be sent to the ATF with the trust and any amendments since the last purchase.

Joey Cataldie is who did mine.
Just email him all the info and he'll set it up.
My kid is on mine, but I don't remember the legal term for him.
