Why do some of you people make asinine comments like this? It makes you sound like an uneducated idiot (which in fairness, you may very well be). The NYT covers national and international stories.

This particular story was written by someone who covers the Southern U.S. and happens to have been born and raised in Texas. The story itself interviews Louisianans who work in the crawfish industry. Quibble with the points in the article all you want, but it's not like it was written by some dweeb who has never been outside of Manhattan and who has never seen a crawfish.

I'm a longtime La resident and an even longer time reader of the NYT. It's very obvious that the Times'writers really likes to cover Louisiana stories, especially if food and drink are part of the topic. They just like to hang in NOLA.

Accuracy? Twice in recent years there have been travel pieces claiming that Lafayette and environs is a great travel destination.
