Except that Roots wasn't a movie, it was a TV miniseries that ran on the small screen for over a week.

I wish it would have been a movie, thus it wouldn't have been free to see on the "small screen".

It made race relations quite spicy on the school grounds for a few months. I'm not sure if it had that impact in the adult world.
