Don’t let it. Lol. That’s actually correct. The pronoun “I” should be used in that case because it’s in the nominative case (predicate nominative after the linking verb “is.”)

are you saying if I show you a picture of me that I should say “this is I”? Because I’m not sure I buy that.

I think that’s the case when the subject is the same person/thing as the object. “The author is I.”
Not sure it makes sense with subject “This” which could be referring to something other than the object pronoun. A photo, for example.
