Did your parents/grandparents ever go to auctions?

My grandparents from south Mississippi would go to auctions.
They’d auction everything from tube socks to laffy taffy.
They had an actual fast talking auctioneer
They’d sell frito pies
Chili poured into a bag of Fritos with a spork.
At the animal auctions they would have the old lady selling boiled peanuts
