Yeah they’re everywhere. Our local one appears to be unstaffed most of the time since it got self checkout.

It's the only store you can go into and never see a single employee the whole time there.

You want to talk about unstaffed? I had to take a leak a couple weeks ago, so I pulled off at a brand new gas station. I walked in and there was no one in there, no one at the checkout. I took a leak, grabbed a drink, and went to pay. They had the deal where you just sit your shite on the counter and it magically rings it all up. I was paying when a dude walks over with couple things, walks around the counter, and grabs two packs of cigarettes. I thought he worked there, but nah......he went to to other magic checkout deal, laid the stuff up there, it rang it up, he paid, and we walked out at the same time. It clearly wasn't the first time he'd done that.

It was a pretty much a fricking convenience store ran on the honor system. I guess someone was in the back or fricking off doing something else....I dunno. It was weird.

Thats their business model...low labor budget!
