I actually just got my 2018 Yukon Denali back from getting a full AFM/DOD delete last week. I plan to do a larger writeup about it but if it's a simple tick, it could be one of your standard lifters. However, if the tick becomes a tap and you get a cylinder misfire warning light, you have a collapsed AFM/DOD lifter that will remain collapsed until you have someone pull the heads and get it out. Here's comparison to a normal hydraulic roller lifter versus a AFM/DOD:

I bought that Yukon with 97k miles on it (in fantastic shape) and knew those lifters are just ticking timebombs and a question of when they will actually collapse and not come back. So, I bought an AFM/DOD delete kit from AMS Racing and it included a Brian Tooley Racing camshaft and lifters of your choice. The truck runs great and the engine should go the long haul like I plan to use it.
