Jumping ahead...
I have vintage "Space" books written and illustrated by Willy Ley from the mid-late 1950s that depict space ships in detail that showed and explains how life-support systems would work; in settings almost identically to the photos you've posted (heavy equipment moving dirt, domed and subterranean"bases".)

The settings depicted were on both the Moon and Mars.
These books were my favorites, made me look forward to the day when it was possible. In book book it claimed there were "canals" and water on Mars as well as an "ice cap". The projection was even so detailed as to claim a high temp of 70 degrees at its equator.
Unfortunately, I'm afraid at some point there's got to be a realization that the whole "Space Travel" dream was just that; that its all been just a fantasy vision of the "Futurists" and dreamers of the times.

about 15 minutes ago... the FAA put out an environmental study on potential impacts of Starship landing in the Indian Ocean
that's likely the last step and I imagine a launch license should be coming soon
