True in general but we could make a lot more stuff here more efficiently if not for burdensome govt regulations
It’s hypocritical by us. We demand clean air and water and safe work environments and minimum wages and all kinds of regulatory red tape for companies, then production becomes inefficient and we decide we prefer the goods be made overseas because it’s cheaper. It’s cheaper because China doesn’t care about pollution, safe work environment, or low wage sweat shop labor. And we are ok with that because “it’s not us doing it” even though our money funds it.
The best thing we could do is deregulate our industries to allow more efficient production

Yeah, regulations add roughly 20% cost to products and services here.
Government scams to create unneeded jobs.
