Maybe this is why Mississippi is ranked low in education outcomes.
In Ohio, I’ve been teaching for 15 years. No one in our high school, middle to upper middle class suburb, had more than 25 students. No one.
When I was a kid, we had 30-35 K-12. It’s a lot different today and teachers today cannot teach and manage 30-35 in a classroom.
Is that because teachers are worse than when I was a kid? No. It’s because of the degradation of society and the nuclear family.

Take out the Delta and you would have scores equal to Ohio. Are you speaking in absolutes based on just your school that you teach or is this state law? What do your process standards allow? Is it the same at the inner city and poor schools as well?
