I agree with the caveat that elite D-linemen (or edges) who can pass rush AND shut down the run are who are truly valuable. Aaron Donald made a huge leap in who he was from in 2014-2018 to who he was from 2019-2022 because he went from just being a good-elite pass rusher to being an all around elite linemen. He was so bad to meh against the run that the Rams grabbed Suh to help them in 2018. After that year with Suh, Donald’s run stopping ability changed completely.
