As far as the article goes, I've no idea of the validity of it, but
I go backpacking every year in the middle of the deep woods on a national forest and camp out for 4 days turkey hunting, and if you want a taste of what a life without computers would be like, go backpacking alone for a week with only the essentials and get a taste.
Aside from the breached reservoir dams, nuclear fallout, surprise tornadoes and hurricanes, etc., just the mundane act of finding suitable firewood within a reasonable walking distance becomes a problem after a few days of using up the resource within the immediate area, let alone cutting your finger, it getting infected, and googling to find out the nearest primary care clinic.
I agree to an extent about the ai, but the majority of us would be categorically fricked in every way imaginable within 6 months.
