But we probably do need to look at the funding side of that

Not much we can do about spending mandates but there are things we can do about discretionary spending. The largest portion of discretionary spending is defense spending and our defense budget is out of control.

And how we can fund it to put back in what has been taken out.

As of 2021, roughly 3 trillion is owed to that from the federal gov who has been "Borrowing money" from it.

Another Law that Reagan signed.

Social Security, like it or not, isn't the issue. It's the management of it!
