I stumbled on a gold mine by accident with electric weedeater. I got a little one. A ryobi. And because it weighs so little, and is so dirt simple to use, the old lady likes it and will get out there and do the weedeating.
So remember that.

My wife loves to cut grass….seriously gets pissed when I cut. We cut probably close to 5 acres with a Scag…unfortunately she doesn’t like to run a weedeater, and neither do I. No way she’d be able to start our Stihl weedeater, so OP is correct when he says that electric weedeaters are the way to go. I had one of the craftsman v60 that was amazing until it wasn’t.
