they had a seafood place before the taco place and I want to say it started as a McAllisters Deli

Not sure how McAlisters failed there. Place was always crowded for lunch.
Maybe the dinner business killed them?

The seafood place was horrible. Think it was called The Shrimp Basket. Decided to try it out one Saturday afternoon a few years ago. Took my son to an LSU football scrimmage the weekend before the Spring Game. The place had maybe 6 other people.
The manage came to spoke to us a lot during the meal. Could feel the desperation in his talk. Someone was filling out an application at the bar and I wanted to tell the person to not bother.
The food was horrible. Way too much salt but no other seasoning and tasted mostly like frozen seafood. Never went back.
I think it closed a few months later.
