As someone who has spent quite a bit of time in India that's one of the dumbest most willfully blind things I've ever read on the internet. The level of poverty there is incomprehensible to most Americans. We're talking young un potty trained children go around without pants in public and will shite/piss whevever they happen to be standing in the street poor. We would fly into Mumbai and stay there at night and take a car in the morning to our final destination. On the way from Mumbai to Pune there was this giant field several football fields in length that was bordered by a canal of water. There would be hundreds of people in the field taking a shite. Every morning. Hundreds of people shitting. Can't image what that field smelled like. We all referred to it as the shitting field. I don't know how he's missed the people rummaging through huge mounds of garbage on the side of the streets.
