Louisiana really sucks if you are poor, but honestly, everywhere probably sucks if you are poor.

If you aren't poor, then your standard of living here is probably very similar to what it would be anywhere, outside of location specific amenities.

if you are in LA and have a household income north of 100-120k, which is very achievable, you’re probably living a higher QOL than most people at a similar income level throughout the country.

That's just not true, even if poor it's better in other places, not even addressing the fact that you are factually less likely to be poor. But the government works way more efficiently in most other states, so that is good for an impoverished person. However if rich or middle class, Louisiana is still objectively worse, you're more likely to be a victim of a crime etc. There are states where you would literally have to try to go to an area where you feel unsafe, it's pretty easy in Louisiana
