I will have an opinion in a few months. My daughter (13) first swung a club last September. I pulled my son’s old junior clubs out of storage just to see how she swung since they fit her size. I kind of got wide eyed because I wasn’t expecting what I saw. Her middle school had golf team tryouts later that week and I told her she should try out. Didn’t have time for lining up a lesson beforehand so I just did the best I could with some basics. She made the team and ended up low medalist in the league championship about 8 weeks later. Shot a 51 over 9 holes. She wasn’t playing against great competition (24 middle school girls from 6 area schools)but it was a nice accomplishment for a girl who only picked up a club for the first time 8 weeks prior. She has since had 15 lessons and just started on a spring Junior tour.

She is also already registered for 10 summer tournaments and I have a week carved out for a Nike 5 day camp in July that she is going to attend. I don’t know what to expect. She is kind of a range rat when not doing her weekly dance and cheer obligations and I can’t imagine the camp will be detrimental. Just don’t know how much she will get from it except maybe making some new golf friends. We will see soon enough.
