There is a reason Kling won the starting job 2 years in a row. AND there is also a reason he lost the starting job last year, and started this season in the 9 hole.

He does not have elite bat skills to be a leadoff, like a Mike Koerner, Jason Williams, Theriot, or even a Milam. Keep him 8th or 9th, and let him see fastballs until he proves he can be consistent. I think he can do it. Let’s see.

Actually only Jay makes a million (and a half)

The assistants don’t make anywhere close to a million. If you added up all their salaries it might be a million.
