Mine is 7 years old and if it's causing problems I'm not aware of it

Yep, I tried vacuuming the thing and that lasted for maybe 6 weeks then my car's dash got the aids. Maintenance codes all over the place. Couldn't clear it with an OBDII so finally looked the code number up, sure enough it was the stupid cabin air filter. My vehicle can actually detect a brand new one vs me cleaning one off lol.
