Look how absurd this is at Ohio State and Michigan. I bet they had no more than five people in these positions ten years ago.

And always staffed by exactly the type of person that would be appropriate for a made-up position. Someone who couldn't do any other white collar job and who almost certainly wouldn't pass the plagiarism smell test.
