So what does it take votes wise to elect the Rep Senate leader? Unfortunately I could see a Cornyn or Thune a majority when it comes to the votes, but is that all it takes? Or can a small percentage keep them out like with what happen with the House Speaker?

Will be some jockeying to see who has support. If someone is unopposed then it's easy. If all 3 rumored candidates think they have the support then it is a secret ballot. Not totally sure, but that's mostly what I can find from the web.
