I went from a full size bed on a sierra to a much smaller compact bed on a gladiator. After much research and trial/error I went with a Leitner rack system with storage pods mounted on each side of the rack

It works beautifully and leaves the bed open for use. When I need more I can use the overhead rack bars to haul on
