I admire your effort but you are wasting time talking to this bunch. McMahon has zero chance no matter what he does. Half of the fan base will never support him. This segment of the fan base don’t even want to win championships. They just want to win 18-20 games and win a few tournament games every few years and have a coach who cheats and snubs his nose to everyone.

Not a very nice way to describe Dale Brown.

Well this is just absurd.

100% of the fanbase will support any coach that wins. That has been proven over and over. People that have been critical of McMahon haven't done so because they dislike him personally (In fact, I don't think anyone has ever said he is a bad guy). They've been critical because he has lost more than he's won. Unfortunately for him it follows the most consistent period of winning in the last 30 years of LSU basketball.

That's not the ultimate hope of the fanbase and you are being completely disingenuous to suggest otherwise. But fans were thrilled with consistent NCAA Tournament appearances because until 2019 - 2022, LSU had not had such sustained success since the early 90's. There was real reason to believe there could be progression to an even higher level of success. THAT is why the former HC is more revered than any of the other HCs since Dale Brown left. If McMahon starts putting together consistent NCAA Tournament appearances the fanbase will love him too. Until then many will remain skeptical. That doesn't make LSU fans "bad". That makes them the same as EVERY OTHER FANBASE IN THE COUNTRY.
