Awesome, thank both for your responses. Kid will be ~1 at time of the trip, so I know not much for the baby to do.

Do they have any live music, game nights, scheduled things like that?

The resort throws a big fiesta every Thursday evening, I believe. It's a night of live music, drinks and food. They have some stations for kids, but you may have to consider the noise (people, music, etc.) for your infant, though.

In general, there are a couple kids lounges, outdoor theater, and a big board of activities near the middle of the resort that highlights the day's activities.

I don't have a kid, but we were there for a wedding and the childcare (they were older, so that probably changes things), according to one of the guests, was top-notch. Allowed couples to enjoy some alone time at the bar or early dinner.

For a one year old, not much. They have the Fiesta that someone mentioned. That's a sunset dinner with lots of entertainment, tons of food, and a ripe ole good time.

The kids club won't keep a 1yo without parents present. You will need to hire a babysitter for your room to do adult things at night.

Every night, or almost every night, they had a kid dance party outside of the ice cream place. Your kid will probably be winding down around then.

As far as an excursion, Playa Mujeres is not really in the excursion zone. Lots of people talk about chartering MM Royal yachts to do day trips for snorkeling and going to Isla. Seems highly regarded. There's a Fbook group that can give you lots of info.
