And she’s wrong on this count. The arena can be designed for basketball, but still host events off season to assist LSU and BR in a much needed revenue stream during the offseason.
I love Mulkey but to think a new arena shouldn’t host graduations or concerts is short sighted.

This is why they aren’t getting rid of the PMAC.
The new arena will host entertainment shows & probably gymnastics & volleyball. Basketball will remain at the PMAC, which will eventually be renovated/rebuilt.
It makes sense honestly. Anyone that’s been to the PMAC for a game this year can see how they’re having a hard time keeping it up with 3 different sports going on at the same time.
Also a new arena hosting 3 sports teams at the same time doesn’t leave much room for anything else between November-March.
ETA: I wish Woodard would issue a statement clearing up some of the misconceptions & laying out their ideas.
