SIAP but just playing devil's advocate here...would your argument not also apply to 17 year old, 16 year olds, etc???

I think the key point is "well-informed" and, imo, it is one of the strongest reasons to raise the age limit. Most major life decisions like marriage, kids, and housing are now pushed into people's early 30s instead of happening in their 20s or earlier the way old society did it. People just aren't maturing at 18 in the same ways their grandparents or great grandparents were.
Raising the age limit would solve that

There will be exceptions of course, but that's the point. They're EXCEPTIONAL and not the normal voter in that age range
