I’m from Oklahoma but have lots of family in Texas. My dad is from Texas, my mom lives there now, my Grandma wore burnt orange at the RRS in the Cotton Bowl while sitting on the OU side.

There are a lot of similarities between the two states, and a lot of differences. Texas has more money, but they have lost some of their identity because so many people moved there from other parts of the country/world.

I had a friend who is not from the USA visit Oklahoma once. He had some family living in Texas and had spent quite a bit of time there. After being in Oklahoma for a weekend he said, “Oklahoma is how I always imagined Texas based on watching movies.”

Anyway, plenty of families are split across the Red River, so lots of shared culture, values, and traditions. Red Dirt and Texas Country have different sounds, but they are pretty damn similar at the end of day.
