I dont honetly know how this works but the mooney center was built with private investor money. Lets say Shaw were to front $ for the building. They would then own the revenue from non lsu events such as concerts, harlem globe trotters or make up whatever you want. They would keep this revenue for say 15 years then it transfers to lsu.

Here's how the Moody center agreement works. Private money pitched in and keeps profits from the live shows, while Texas owns the land and exclusive use of the dates they use it. The Moody cost $375 million to build with a 15,000 capacity. However they block off the top section for basketball which makes it a much more intimate setting of 10,000 capacity.

I love the Moody center and I'm glad Woodward has been around to tour it. The live calendar has stayed full and it could be that way in Baton Rouge also, while also having a great experience for the fans on gameday.

I would love for LSU to also develop a partnership to keep the events flowing in. A new arena built right could really be beneficial to Baton Rouge and the region.

Hopefully Woodward follows the blueprint of other recently built arenas and gets LSU a wonderful new facility.

If you interested here are the specifics about the development of the Moody Center.

In 2018, it was announced that Oak View Group and UT agreed to form a public-private partnership, to build a new $375 million arena. The arena will replace the Frank Erwin Center as the home for the Texas Longhorns basketball programs, and will also function as a world-class events center for the city of Austin.[4][5] The new arena is named the Moody Center following the Moody Foundation's grant of $130 million to the university. Oak View Group is funding the construction, and will manage the building in exchange for the right to keep most of the income from non-UT events, such as concerts and shows, for at least the first 35 years after opening.[6] UT, however, owns the land under the arena and will be the owner of the building. Under the terms of the agreement, the university will have exclusive control of the arena for 60 days each year to hold men's and women's basketball games, graduations, and other events.[6] Oak View Group, along with partners Live Nation and C3 Presents, will have the right to hold events on the other days.[6]

Most importantly where will the PVC Pipe reside on the exterior of the New said Arena?

This would be the biggest red flag for me as a private investor. Baton Rouge is stone cold dead as concert tour stop. With the exception of a few one off Tiger Stadium shows, its been that way since Beaver Productions was a thing. A new venue would drive the interest of course, but it wont just happen. There needs to be a strong marketing/promotions arm setup well before the venue opens in order to hit the ground running.
