Yer welcome to throw your designs out there and be the change you'd like to see. I agree with you about older architecture generally being more attractive, but I don't consider the examples you posted to be good examples for "bland" architecture. Bland is a steel building with a vinyl banner for a sign. Those are subdued, minimalist designs because that's what people like and it's probably quick, cheap and easy to build.

I'm not an architect so I have no knowledge on building standards and types, same as I'm not a dress designer, but I do know what looks good and what looks like pure shite.
