My family introduced me to a girl and told me I had to marry her so our countries would stop waging war with each other every other decade or so.

Plus she had a dowry and some land.

ETA - seriously..:met a girl that worked in my building. I was 25 she was 23. She was hot, sexy, smart and fun. Best I’d ever dated…and of course I’m a fricking catch. I dumped the girl I was dating, she cut her stable loose and we were together ever since. After a few years of dating….dating seriously…living together and engagement we got married - now for 24 years.

Success? We spent a few years together traveling and having fun before kids. After that it was all about moving the family forward. Still love each other even though we drive each other crazy at times. We both come from traditional families too so that helps.

Also, we dated a long time. You have to have long vetting process. Anyone can hide crazy for at least a year.
